The teacher I normally work with had to go to a doctor appointment so, we had another teacher in charge of class. Since it was the last period of the day and a sub was teaching, the students were told to work on their informative essays and that I could help assist them. Every student needed help with their essays. It was so fun to get to read each students essay and see their personalities come out. I was surprised how much basic work was needed on the students essays. Some essays had 0 punctuation, some had no capitalized words, no titles, and no thesis. It was clear these students were not thoroughly taught these fundamental concepts at the right age. All of the students were very thankful they were getting 1 on 1 attention and some much deserved help on their essays, because they had wonderful ideas and so much creativity, but struggled to put it all together. I hope I will get to help revise more essays in the future.
