Eighth time mentoring:

The class was extra small considering it was the first day back from spring break. The teacher didn't want to teach new material to such a small class so she gave the students an opportunity to makeup school work from before break. A few students spent time doing an online test and a few others were typing their essays. I assisted some students with how to format their works cited page. Once most of the students were settled into our work the teacher showed me the material she was teaching for the rest of the week to get my opinion on it, they were short horror stories that I knew the students would love. She also gave me advice for resources to use and tips for teaching hard material which was super helpful. I liked that the teacher delegated this time for makeup work, so students could work in class and be successful. It was always a good idea so she didn't have to reteach new information to over half of the class the next day.
